Andre LeTeve

My readers have finally lucked out!  I am known to for writing about complicated cases that I can turn into book length with all of the evidence and questions left.  This one is fairly cut and dry.  Sure, there are a few questions left but nothing major, as most of it appears to have simply been defense tactics in my opinion. In October of 2009 in Scottsdale Arizona Laurie LeTeve filed for divorce from her husband, Andre.  She had recently found out that he had been unfaithful to her by having sex with over 20 prostitutes.  Yeah ladies... that would do it.  She was seeking shared custody of their two children, Alec (5) and Asher (1). Andre was served in the early part of November. She moved out of the home, although I am uncertain if this was before or after she filed for divorce, and was living at another location in Scottsdale.  Sometime in the month of November Andre filed for an emergency hearing asking for custody of the children and stated that...

The Death of Susan White

Not long ago I read the book "A Warrant to Kill" by Kathryn Casey.  It was about the shooting death of Susan White by Harris County Texas Sheriff deputy, Joseph Kent McGowen.  I had also seen several episodes of different shows pertaining to this case in the past such as 48 Hours and American Justice.  Per usual though I do not take a case to blog about solely based on one book or even a television show.  I do not simply use one website or one news article.  I dig, and dig until I find all of the information that I want or can find so that I can at least attempt to show all sides of a crime.  If you have read many of my blogs here, you know that I am not one to believe that all those convicted are guilty, but I also most definitely do not believe all that are convicted are innocent. There have been several cases in which I have expressed my views that the person convicted was in fact guilty as charged, however, I disagreed with the tactics taken i...

Cameron "Todd" Willingham: An Innocent Man Executed?

One can hardly argue that every person that has ever been executed has in fact been guilty.  There have been too many instances over the years, most recently the case of twelve year old George Stinney who was executed in 1944 and posthumously exonerated seventy years later, of this.  This should not necessarily be a surprise to anyone for many reason.  For one we cannot ignore the racism and bias that went on, and some argue continues to go on, in our justice system.  In Stinney's case he was a obviously very young African American who was convicted of murdering two young white girls.  In cases such as his, as well as those like the case of Joe Arridy who was executed in 1939 and exonerated in 2011, the U.S. Supreme Court has taken actions to prevent these executions.  It is now illegal to execute someone who's crime was committed before the age of eighteen or anyone who is officially considered mentally challenged.  In the the Arridy case it was ...

The Death of Tera Chavez: Was it Murder or Suicide?

This was a case that I stumbled upon to look into when I was researching the last case I did on the shooting death of Mary Hawkes.  Unlike most of the ones I look into I really knew nothing about this case other than the wife of a police officer had died.  In the end I think I spent more hours reading about this case than any other. It seems that the more I read, the more questions I had and the more confused I became.  Maybe the reason for that is that one of the first things I learned in my search was the outcome of the trial.  So, to be fair and so that readers can either help or understand my confusion I will attempt to give the reader the story in much the same way that I obtained it. On October 21, 2007 around 9pm Albuquerque Police Officer Levi Chavez called 911 (to be clear the call went to the Valencia County Sheriff's office and not to APD) to report that his wife had shot herself and committed suicide.  The investigators arrived to the scene and too...
