Clayton and Molly Daniels

This is one of the few cases that I blog about that does not involve a murder. There was a “plan” for a death; there were other crimes; there was even a dead body involved. These things alone make the case interesting. However, the other side of this case is the almost humor in the stupidity, arrogance and idiotic ideas of the perpetrators. The fact that they thought they could get away with their crime seems so ridiculous. I do not think the show exists any more, I could be wrong, but there used to be a show called America's Dumbest Criminals. I completely believe that Clay and Molly Daniels would be candidates to be on that show. On June 18, 2004 authorities in Leander Texas were called. My research was not clear as to whether when called if there was a vehicle still on fire, or even if it was hot at all. In the end what they did find was a Chevy Cavalier down in a ravine that had been burnt beyond recognition. The fire had burned so hot that even the metal on the v...

Jonathon Edington

When I put names on my list of cases to research I try to put something on there with it to guide me to what kind of case it would be. For example I may put a name down and then say if it was a spousal murder I say the spouses name and sometimes I will add a state. This case was listed as “Jonathon Edington- Barry James- neighbor.” I assumed it was likely one of the cases that I had gathered on Fear Thy Neighbor and to be fair, I may have but not only was my memory not jogged when I started looking at the case, it was never jogged. To be fair I have no idea where I heard about this case for certain and I have no memory of hearing anything about it. I am a bit perturbed with myself because I think it is an important case. On August 28, 2006 Fairfield Connecticut patent attorney, Jonathon Edington returned home from Rhode Island where he, his wife and his two daughters had been visiting family. Jonathon, for reasons that I never found, returned home alone that evening. My ...

Daniel Ray Wilkes

This case has me a bit perplexed on some things. Everyone that has been or continues to be held on death row in Indiana can be found on a particular website. The site is full of information about a case, but more particularly about the person. If they have already been executed it will add things such as what they had for their last meal or their last statement. One of the more interesting things that it often shows is the mitigating and aggravating circumstances of the case. It was here that I found one of the confusing things. The second thing revolved around issues with the jury in the sentencing phase. I will get into these issues as I tell the story but I will let you know that while Daniel Ray Wilkes was sentenced to death in December of 2007, after several appeals upholding this sentence, in 2011 he was subsequently re-sentenced to life without parole. Daniel Ray Wilkes met Donna Claspell when they were both residents at a rehabilitation center in Evansville Indi...

Heath Stocks/ Charles "Jack" Walls

From time to time you will hear me say that this blog will be different than any other that I have done before. At my age that could mean one of three things. One, you should possibly be scared; Two, I really have done one like it in the past or; three, it really is true, this one is going to be different. As you can tell by the title this is more than one case. I may have possibly done blogs with different cases combined because they were similar cases that were resolved very quickly, or maybe they were from the same area. This case does involve two cases but I feel as if you cannot discuss one with out the other. While the crimes of Charles “Jack” Walls III actually occurred for many years prior to the crimes committed by Heath Stocks they were not know for quite some time after. There were a few rumors here and there and some say some authorities as well as prominent people in the town of Lonoke Arkansas knew about Walls and his activities but it was said that few believ...
