True Crime Stories

I have several cases that I have researched and are ready to be put together at this point. A few of them are pretty cut and dry it seems and so while I have the time I am going to try and push a few out. On February 20, 2008 firefighters were called to the scene of a home in Old Orchard Beach Maine. The home belonged to Christopher and Carol Bolduc, owners of a local business called Blustery Day Flags. The only thing that I can determine is that the business fell under the category of “miscellaneous retail,” whatever that may mean. Inside first firefighters, and then investigators, would find the bodies of forty-two year old Chris, his wife, Carol, also forty-two, and their son Joshua who was fifteen. The three victims had not died in the fire, but had been stabbed to death multiple times. Also inside was the body of the family dog, Spike. He too had been stabbed. This case was rather difficult to search adequately. Sure if you search Janie Lou Gibbs you can find plenty of websites to click on but when you start reading through them you start find a lot of inconsistencies. They are not necessarily simple and excusable ones. Later I will be blogging a case that took place in the early 1900's and in that case I expect the inconsistencies to things only because of the time period and how difficult those cases are to find consistent facts. I did not expect those same issues in this case mainly because it occurred in the mid to late 1960's. One of the biggest issues I had involved names. Several things state that Janie Lou's middle sons name was Lester so this is what I presumed was his name. I finished researching this case asking myself a few questions. I did not ask myself if I thought Neil Entwistle was guilty of killing his wife and infant daughter; I did not ask myself if the evidence against him presented in trial was sufficient to convict him.  I asked myself if Neil Entwistle was my son what it would take for me believe in his guilt.  It has been over ten years since Neil Entwistle was tried, convicted and sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole and his parents are still proclaiming his innocence.  This is even as his story has even changed over the years as to where he was when his wife and child died.
