True Crime Stories

This is one of those cases that I have seen multiple episodes of different television shows and heard the story many times and yet is not one of the more than 700 cases I have blogged about. I do admit that there have been times that I have completely researched a case and put it together only to discover I have already done it and there are a few that I have done more than once on accident. I have tried to learn from those mistakes and check prior to wasting my time researching so I was a bit surprised I had not done this case. While the case itself is rather diluted and “crazy” the core motive is as old as time.... power and prestige. As I have said many times in my blogs, when I start researching a story I do not depend on one source and look for all that I can find.  I first heard of this case when I read the book "Checklist for Murder" by Anthony Flacco recently.  I was surprised when I got online to research more on the case that so little was found that did not relate to the book.  Sure, there's a Wikipedia page (that I think is common knowledge cannot be fully relied upon), and a few other articles but truly not a lot.  I did find one other website that one would think would have an abundance of information but I will explain later why I relied on little to nothing from that site.  With that said I should point out that at the end of Anthony Flacco's book he stated that some of the names of the characters had been changed but he did not specify which ones.  I know the names of the major players such as Roberts daughter, Natasha, her lawyer Victoria Doom and investigator Steve Fisk ...

I have often said before that I do not do a vast majority of cases that involve spouse on spouse because sadly they are almost routine it seems in today's world.  However, from time to time I do blog about those sorts of cases because there is generally other issues involved that give the story a different spin.  This is one of them and this case has several different or unique spins to it.  This is not just a case of a couple going through a divorce where domestic violence not only was alleged but ended the lives of two people.  This is also a case about the "Blue Code" of silence and how that code, along with political corruption nearly brought down an entire town.  We have heard of case after case where money and prestige prevents any sort of justice being dealt.  We saw it in the O.J.
