William Bradford Bishop Jr.

If you know anything about the John List case then you will see that this case is almost a copycat version of that one, just five years later and a few states away. It is believed that on March 1, 1976 William Bradford Bishop Jr. murdered his wife, mother and three sons in their Bethesda Maryland home. It was not until March 10 th that the police were notified when neighbors realized they had not seen the family in quite some time. Without realizing it, the bodies of Annette, Lobelia, William, Brenton and Geoffrey Bishop had already been found. The one person not found, then or even today over forty years later was William Bradford Bishop Jr. Some would say that no one could simply disappear and never be found and there have been alleged sightings of Bishop over the years but the reality of it is, if anyone would have been able to pull this off it would have been William Bradford Bishop Jr. Bishop was once a member of the United States Army, he had multiple col...

I do not want to say that I have “discovered” the show Unsolved Mysteries because that would indicate that I knew nothing about the show and that would not be true. But I have “re-discovered” it and have been binge watching it while I research cases. It is not as if I really need more cases to add to my list, but then again you never know what types of cases may intrigue me at any moment. And, the while I do not care for cases that are unsolved as there is not an “ending” per se many of the cases that aired on the show back in the late 1980's have since been solved. This is one of them. I am unsure if it was a benefit that I had looked up the case from the promo for the show and since I was in between cases I was actually researching this case as that segment aired. There were several things I found that seemed to be different from my research. Normally I would give more credence to the news articles than a television show because they are generally bias or sensationa...

Audrey "Marie" Hilley

Depending on your age, you may remember that from about the mid-1980s through the early to mid-1990s we lived through a time where television was all about true stories and mini-series'. It was from one of these, a 1991 movie called “Wife, Mother, Murderer” that I remember first hearing about Marie Hilley. Marie's story is one of those that would qualify with the tag “you cannot make this stuff up.” I would like to say that the television movie based on her story was over dramatized and that neither she, nor those around her were as idiotic as they seemed. I could say that, and while it is always true to a certain extent in every movie or television show based on a true story, but in this case it was far less dramatized. Marie married her husband, Frank in 1951. By 1975 they had two children, a son, Michael and a daughter, Carol. In May of 1975 Frank went to the doctor complaining of nausea and tenderness in his stomach. Several tests were done as he was not ...
